Notification for the selection of JPF and FA

Candidates are invited for recruitment to the following temporary positions in the project titled “Bioprospecting and Comparative Evaluation of the Therapeutic Potential of Medicinal Plants Against Major Health Disorders” funded by the Chhattisgarh Tribal Local Health Tradition and Medicinal Plants Board (Project Code: A400).

Further details are as follows:

  1. Name of the Post: Junior Project Fellow 01 post

Fellowship: Rs.22,000/- per month (Consolidated)

Qualification and Experience

Essential

  • M.Sc. in Botany/Biotechnology from a recognized University with a minimum of 60% marks.

Desirable

  • Experience in medicinal plant exploration and identification, collection and authentication of plant materials, extraction and phytochemical analysis of plant samples, and in vitro screening od medicinal plants for therapeutic activities.
  1. Name of the Post: Field Assistant (Trainee)02 post

Stipend: Rs.10,000/- per month

Qualification and Experience

Essential

  • Higher Secondary/Plus Two / Vocational higher Secondary Education (VHSE) with 60% marks.

Desirable

  • Basic experience in medicinal plant collection, maintenance, laboratory assistance. Preference will be given to candidates with relevant experience in medicinal pant research or laboratory work

General Instructions

  • The appointment will be purely temporary for a period of six months or till the completion of the project.
  • Age limit: 40 years, calculated as on 1st January 2026. Age relaxation will be admissible to SC/ST/OBC candidates as per Government norms.
  • Interested candidates may appear for the Walk-in-Interview on 11 September 2026 at 10:00 AM at KSCSTE – Jawaharlal Nehru Tropical Botanic Garden and Research Institute, Palode, Thiruvananthapuram, with duly filled application form, updated CV, original certificates, self-attested copies of certificates and mark lists, and proof of age.
  • Candidates should report at the venue at least 30 minutes before the scheduled interview time for verification of documents.
  • Candidates must bring all original certificates along with one set of self-attested photocopies.
  • The selected candidates will have no claim for regular appointment or permanent absorption in the Institute.
  • The Institute reserves the right to fill or not to fill the posts without assigning any reason thereof.
  • Selected candidates will be engaged in field data collection, data digitalization, documentation and decoding/pooling of data, database management, preparation of scientific reports, publication-related work, drafting and editing of books/manuscripts, and other project-related activities.
  • No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
