Qualification: Ph.D.
Specialization : In silico screening of plant-derived antiviral compounds. Development of plant-diversity databases.
Taxonomy of foliicolous fungi.
Started research career as a research scholar at JNTBGRI in 1996. Received CSIR-Senior Research Fellowship in 2000 and did PhD in fungal systematics. Joined the ‘BTISNet’ project of DBT and trained in developing plant diversity databases, profiling phytochemicals from medicinal plants and in ‘in silico’ screening of plant derived compounds for anti-viral leads. Currently focusing the identification of plant-derived compounds against Dengue and Hepatitis C viruses.Plant diversity/phytochemical database creation and management are also other focused areas.
