PhD: Ph.D. (Chemistry), Gandhigram Rural University
Specialization : Phytochemistry – Isolation and characterization of secondary metabolites. Extraction and analysis of essential oils. Estimation of bioactive molecules/marker compounds. Development of new methods for HPTLC analysis of extracts and isolates.
Dr. Anil John J. has been working as Technical Officer in the phytochemistry and Phytopharmacology Division of JNTBGRI since 1998. In 2009, he was awarded Ph.D. in Chemistry from Gandhigram Rural University, Dindigul Tamil Nadu. He has more than 25 years of experience in the phytochemistry of medicinal and aromatic plants. He has published nearly fifty research papers in peer reviewed and high impact international journals and presented over 30 research papers in national and international seminars and conferences. He also co-supervised 15 graduate and postgraduate students from various universities. He received many awards including Dr. P.D. Sethi Annual Award (2010).

He has very good experience in independently operating sophisticated instruments like Camag High Performance Thin Layer Liquid Chromatograph (HPTLC), Shimadzu Gas Chromatograph (GC-FID), Shimadzu and Perkin Elmer High Performance Liquid Chromatograph (HPLC), Buchi Medium Pressure Liquid Chromatograph (MPLC), Shimadzu UV-Vis Spectrophotometer, Rudolf Digital refractometer, Rudolf Digital Polarimeter etc.
